Stronger Together
This new initiative brings together adults with disabilities and children from underserved and at-risk environments in a safe, structured, and supportive setting where everyone has a meaningful role. Building on the strong foundations established by our community partners, this program creates a connected pathway of support that begins in early childhood and continues through post-school enrichment. By working together, we are creating opportunities for individuals of all abilities to grow, contribute, and belong.
Our Mission
Know Better Do Better Collective is dedicated to providing therapeutic, educational, and community-based programs for young adults with disabilities. Our mission is to promote independence and inclusion, fostering environments where individuals can thrive and contribute meaningfully to society. We believe in the potential of every young adult and strive to support their journey through ongoing education, career training, socialization, and community service initiatives. By empowering individuals with the skills and resources they need, we create opportunities for personal growth and community involvement. Together, we can build a more inclusive world, where everyone has the chance to realize their full potential.

Along with our partnership with PMAC (Poe Mill Achievement Center) we are working together to create a connected, community-based model that supports children, adults with disabilities, and families through shared programs and coordinated services. Together, we are combining our strengths to build an environment where individuals of all abilities are valued, supported, and given meaningful opportunities to grow, learn, and contribute.

This collaboration is rooted in a shared belief: true inclusion happens when communities intentionally create spaces where everyone belongs and has a meaningful role. By aligning our missions and resources, we are developing initiatives that connect academic support, mentorship, life skills development, and community engagement into one unified system of care.

Our Purpose
Our mission is simple: to create a safe and inclusive community where adults with disabilities and children can learn, build relationships, and develop confidence together. This initiative focuses on connection, dignity, and opportunity. It recognizes that adults with disabilities have valuable skills to share, and that children benefit from consistent relationships and positive role models.
Why This Program Matters
Adults with disabilities often have limited opportunities for meaningful community engagement and workforce development. At the same time, children in under-resourced environments benefit from additional support, encouragement, and stable relationships. This program thoughtfully addresses both needs in a supervised environment designed to promote safety, growth, and belonging.
How the Programs Work Together
This initiative connects existing community programs into one coordinated support system. Adults with disabilities participate in meaningful, supervised roles and are never responsible for supervising children independently. Participants contribute in meaningful and appropriate ways, such as:
• Reading with children
• Assisting with art and classroom activities
• Helping prepare snacks
• Greeting families and welcoming participants
• Organizing materials and supporting routines
• Modeling positive social interaction
• Supporting group activities
What the Program Does
The program provides structured opportunities for:
• Adults with disabilities to build job, communication, and life skills
• Preschool children to receive mentorship and support
• Participants to develop confidence, social skills, and independence
• Community organizations to work together to strengthen families
• A model of inclusion that can be replicated in other communities
Our Programs

Therapeutic Services
Career Training
Our licensed Speech and Occupational therapists provide personalized support plans that help build life skills, support emotional well-being, and encourage meaningful relationships—so every individual feels heard, valued, and supported.
Through our career training programs, participants build practical skills to prepare for the workforce. We offer hands-on workshops and job placement support to help them succeed.

Educational Support
We offer young adults tutoring, workshops, and skill-building opportunities that support learning, growth, and personal development—along with opportunities to mentor others, continue their education, and earn money to support themselves.

Community Engagement
Our community engagement initiatives connect young adults with local organizations, encouraging volunteer work and giving back—while helping them build connections and feel a true sense of belonging.

July Pilot Program: Adult Life & Learning Community

This July, we’re launching a pilot program designed to support adults with disabilities through meaningful, hands-on learning and community connection. Our Adult Life & Learning Community (ages 18+) offers a structured, supportive environment where participants can build life skills, strengthen communication, and grow in confidence.

Throughout the week, participants will engage in a variety of activities including daily living skills (like cooking, budgeting, and personal care), social and leisure groups, movement and wellness activities, and collaborative projects that foster purpose and independence. The program is intentionally designed to be sensory-rich, interactive, and adaptable to meet a wide range of needs.

In addition to supporting adults, we are also partnering to serve preschool-aged children—creating a more inclusive, connected community across ages to begin in August 2026.

Just as importantly, we are committed to supporting families. This program provides built-in respite during the day, along with opportunities for caregivers to connect with one another through a weekly evening gathering. These sessions offer a space to share experiences, access resources, and build a strong, supportive community.

Our July pilot is more than a program—it’s a step toward creating a place where individuals and families feel supported, connected, and empowered.
